Multiple Sources say Chief Justice was derailed in saving Roe v. Wade by the leaked May memo

Chief Justice John Roberts was on the side of leaving Roe alone according to multiple sources. CNN is reporting that Roberts lobbied at least every week for several weeks to sway Justice Brett Kavanaugh to reverse his views. Once the memo was leaked, the whole effort to save Roe was lost according to those sources.

The high court only accepted the case to determine the constitutionality of the Mississippi law banning abortion at 15 weeks according to the sources. Correspondent Joan Biskupic says at the last minute Justice Roberts decided to vote with the majority, 5-4 on the related Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. It was decided by a 6-3 vote.

Believe it? Or is this a leftist trick?

We Are IN a Recession

That seems to be the word from the man on the street. Consumer Confidence is down for the third straight month! People say even though the Biden Administration is trying to talk down the concept of whether we are technically in a recession or not (Pamela Yellen tried to say no yesterday) THEY BELIEVE we are. They cited gas and food prices among top concerns.

US Consumer Confidence is at its Lowest level since Feb. 2021… Down 95.7

Buttigieg Beats Out Biden

NO TO BIDEN | That is the finding of a new poll in New Hampshire – one of our key primary states. US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg beat out the sitting president among respondents to the University of New Hampshire Survey Center Granite Poll. 17% said they would choose Buttigieg. 16% said they would choose Biden. The list of likely 2024 presidential options also included Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Gov. Gavin Newsom of California. Newson got 10% support.

A Southeast Texas church is undergoing an extraordinary tussle. And church members are finding strife in the whole conversation that has arisen. A member of the church, with relatives in church leadership, has identified as being gay. It led church leadership to decide to collectively ask the member to either a) accept church discipline of some kind, or b) remove their membership from the church.

A meeting is called for Wednesday to discuss the issue. A source tells us the young man is not even active with the church right now, but his official membership is in question.

Information has been posted in the church bulletin and on Wednesday leaders will gather to determine if the young man has decided to terminate his membership in the church or accept discipline. If not, members say he will be removed by leadership.

It brings into sharp focus what would actually constitute cause for removal as a member. And in this particular congregations policies, it would entail the use of a passage from Matthew 18.

The passage reads, “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.”

Now, members are asking themselves what actions should be taken to properly discipline the young man. And whether that can help him.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis – who has been earning bona fides with his handling of the covid19 debacle and other key issues – may play a key role in an unfolding outrage wrapped in a travesty.

Politico has launched a thousand ships with a report today indicating Palm Beach County, Florida investigators are preparing for the possible arrest of former President Donald Trump.

Contingency plans are underway as we speak, to hear Politico tell it.

It all revolves around the actions of Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance. At least two Florida officials say they are getting ready to roll out to Mar-a-Lago IF Vance can obtain an indictment against Trump.

But Governor DeSantis has the authority in Florida to BLOCK the extradition of Trump to New York State.

A clerk in Palm Beach County says the Florida statute is in a gray area, but its generally accepted that DeSantis would have the authority to step in.

Vance has been investigating ALLEGATIONS of bank and tax fraud against Trump. And after receiving millions of pages of tax records from Trump once the former President left office the investigation is believed to be nearing its end.

As historical epochs go, there is always a pivot point that leads to societal change. There are “Waterloo’s” even when there isn’t a Waterloo. There is typically a catalyst that shows a society just how deranged it has become. And those changes in the hearts and minds lead to an ever-so-silent shift in society.

Maybe the over-priced coffee titan Starbucks has shown us just what it would take to make Americans utter the word “ridiculous” under its collective breath and then vote accordingly next time.

Starbucks has championed the “woke generation” and applauded the slaughtering of former President Trump who was booted off social media.

But Starbucks picked up its ball and went home when it learned of Facebook’s disinterest in COMPLETELY stifling American free speech.

Sure, Facebook has done its fair share to preserve and defend Americanized marxism, but so far people with dissent can often still call a spade a spade. And THAT was too much for Starbucks.

The Seattle-based king of $8 coffee has said it may knock down its Facebook page. Why? Zuckerburg has NOT been sufficiently draconian to ALL DISSENT yet. The company is said to be re-evaluating its appearance on the platform because Facebook – read this slowly – Facebook has allowed other Americans to disagree with Starbucks social justice narrative.

One Facebook employee told his cohorts that, “Anytime they post (organically) in regards to social issues or their mission & values work (e.g. BLM, LGBTQ, sustainability/climate change, etc.) they are overwhelmed by negative/insensitive, hate speech related comments on their posts.”

Somewhere Fidel Castro is hoisting a cigar in tribute to the aims of Starbucks. After all, why SHOULD Americans be allowed views divergent with those of Starbucks.

You see, the Starbucks community management team says its been unable to “moderate” other views on its posts. And DISABLING comments is just plain (sniffle) hard.

The bottom line is that this “woke” company has not yet realized that about half the American public doesn’t buy the bologna about this new “social justice.” Those warriors believe anything short of rigid fealty to the concept of white guilt – is heresy. Most Americans know that is silly. That a fantasy has been created. That this new “wokeness” is really more like a frozen thousand yard stare of acquiescence to a known lie.

One day we will possibly recognize this time as a crucible one in which we began to realize that nothing short of “accepted” speech is what Starbucks really wanted. And it was there that Americans realized – hey, that’s not Freedom!

Catherine’s Day

Sheri Sutton surprised and encouraged us. Sheri was a classmate and dear friend to crime victim Mary Catherine Edwards.

Edwards was brutally killed 26 years ago. And only now has an accused killer been named. That part of the story is well documented. We have heard much in the area conversation about the alleged killer.

Sheri Sutton agreed to talk about a life snuffed out too soon, and put the focus back on the innocent person who is deserving of discussion.

Here is how Sutton described Mary Catherine Edwards:

I can say that a highlight of my Lamar days was the bond with my sorority sisters in Zeta Tau Alpha, even though it was for only two years.

I quickly realized what a joy it was to befriend Catherine and Allison Edwards. The identical twins you could only tell apart by the shape of their eyebrows.

Catherine ended up being my dorm mate. She was so easy to live with. She was such a caring, giving, and sweet person. Always funny. Catherine radiated positivity, and you could not help but smile when she walked into a room. She had the soul of an angel.

Catherine always wanted to be an elementary school teacher and was very dedicated in her studies and in pursuing her degree. Upon graduation, she entered the teaching profession and started making memorable impacts on all her students, as well as all the people around her. Her life was happy and grounded.

I will never forget the day I read about her murder… the excruciating effect it had on family, friends, co-workers, and students.

No one wanted to believe that OUR Catherine was the victim of such an evil act. She has been in my heart ever since the tragedy. I have prayed for her case to be reopened, hoping strides in DNA would eventually offer answers.

Thank God there will finally be answers so Catherine can get her justice… and we ALL can have some sort of peace.

Catherine is definitely a light and soul taken away too early. She has impacted my life and the lives of so many people in the community, whether they knew her for a minute, a day, a year, or years.
