PROPHETIC WORDS FROM A U.S. MILLENNIAL

[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

We have a historic credibility gap emerging in America.
And the woman pictured above (presumably) “gets it.” Alyssa Algren seems to be the author. Although I can’t know if this is Alyssa or not. Possibly a third-party picture? In 2020 misinformation is as prolific as blades of grass. It’s the concepts she purportedly put forth that deserve attention. The story circulating the cyber-waves and social media outlets is that Alyssa knows the underlying failure of our culture. And she tells it better than I could. Thing is – one can now SEE when Facebook disagrees with your post. Thus, Alyssa will get additional attention here. I can’t be allowed to fall into the CyberThink that pervades our planet.
Here is what “Alyssa” reportedly wrote, and I believe her wholeheartedly.
Alyssa: “If you are fearful that the new generation of voters don’t get it, read this article written by Alyssa Ahlgren. I think her analysis of why they think the way they do is exactly correct.
“I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism.
I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards.
Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.
Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”
Never saw American prosperity. Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Now, I’m not attributing Miss Ocasio-Cortez’s words to outright dishonesty. I do think she whole-heartedly believes the words she said to be true. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.
Let me lay down some universal truths really quick. The United States of America has lifted more people out of abject poverty, spread more freedom and democracy, and has created more innovation in technology and medicine than any other nation in human history. Not only that but our citizenry continually breaks world records with charitable donations, the rags to riches story is not only possible in America but not uncommon, we have the strongest purchasing power on earth, and we encompass 25% of the world’s GDP. The list goes on. However, these universal truths don’t matter. We are told that income inequality is an existential crisis (even though this is not an indicator of prosperity, some of the poorest countries in the world have low-income inequality), we are told that we are oppressed by capitalism (even though it’s brought about more freedom and wealth to the most people than any other system in world history), we are told that the only way we will acquire the benefits of true prosperity is through socialism and centralization of federal power (even though history has proven time and again this only brings tyranny and suffering).
Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this, my generation has ONLY seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like not to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague.
With the current political climate giving rise to the misguided idea of a socialist utopia, will we see the light? Or will we have to lose it all to realize that what we have now is true prosperity? Destroying the free market will undo what millions of people have died to achieve.
My generation is becoming the largest voting bloc in the country. We have an opportunity to continue to propel us forward with the gifts capitalism and democracy has given us. The other option is that we can fall into the trap of entitlement and relapse into restrictive socialist destitution. The choice doesn’t seem too hard, does it?” Amen and Amen.”
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

WARNING: WATCH FOR THE COLLAPSE OF THE BEAUMONT MEDICAL COMMUNITY

[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.7.1″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.7.1″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.7.1″ _module_preset=”default” type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.1″ _module_preset=”default” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

There are growing fears that a reported mistake by a lease management company could crush the Beaumont medical community and cause tremendous impediments for Beaumont area patients using physicians and other treatment facilities on the Christus St. Elizabeth campus.

It involves the lease agreements for at least a dozen physician’s offices on the campus. One source told us its been hard enough getting quality doctors to reside in Beaumont already, and that THIS will make it MUCH harder.

“We were shut down,” he said. “It’s unethical.”

The issue centers on what the source calls a major mistake with lease agreements. Now the Dallas management company known as CBRE has sent letters to secure back rent from offices. Between $8,000 more a year and $150,000 more for an annual lease. Many doctors are reportedly fleeing or will be fleeing the campus for other facilities. Many have NEVER been late with a rent payment – and at least one has continued to pay the rent, plus the salaries of staff DESPITE the COVID-19 shutdown that prevented them from opening their doors.

CBRE has reportedly hired an attorney out of New Orleans to sue several businesses.

“It’s horrible. And its unethical,” said our source.

CBRE seems to be arguing that a CPI increase was not applied to leases in the past.

Christus St. Elizabeth was contacted about the bungled negotiations but has not responded at publication.

“It’s hurting this community. It was hard to get doctors here in the 80’s with the economy and the schools. We’ve spent ten years trying to bring doctors here. Physicians don’t want to relocate here,” said the insider.

“To me, THEY (the management company) made the mistake and I don’t think physicians should have to pay for it.”

“Everybody I know is looking for a new place to rent… some are wanting to build… and some just want out.”

Other sources in the medical field say the emerging crisis is expected to further worsen conditions in the Southeast Texas medical community. And could result in a flight of good medical professionals out of the area. 1813 will be watching out for you if that happens.

Beloved Beaumont meteorologist resigns, “can’t be a part of” biased news coverage

Citing differences with KBMT TV over the handling of recent news stories, a beloved local meteorologist has stepped down from his job. With no work replacement in mind!

Veteran news and weather journalist James Brown (far left in the image above) submitted his letter of resignation citing his inability to “be a part of” recent coverage that he called imbalanced and lacking in context. Brown said its just “adding hatred” to the emotionally charged stories. “It’s just wrong,” said Brown after indicating he believes only part of the story is being told. He seemed to understand the hurt feelings of African Americans and supported stories on racial injustice but seems to believe only half the story is being told. That context is not being provided and that bias is creeping in.

The meteorologist told news management in his resignation letter that he would not participate in “this injustice to my beliefs as a Christian, and proud American.” Brown wrote, “… I still believe red, yellow, black and white we are precious in HIS sight.”

Brown tells 1813news.com he made the decision without another job in mind and solely on the ground of his convictions. He said, “Adding fuel to a fire that is out of control is NOT in me to associate with.”

Home health care expert: COVID19 is manageable, and being managed

A home health care company president and RN says FEAR of COVID19 is paralyzing too many people, the CDC needs to step up, and the Governor of Texas should re-open business WITH standard sanitary precautions.

Karie Spell has been in the industry for 25 years and has been the half owner of the gold-standard home health care company Signature Health Services since 2007.

Spell’s company has a staff of more than 70 and sees around 350 patients at any given time. One thing she believes with all her might? That the media has created a “mass hysteria” around COVID19 – and a hysteria that is misplaced. She says the direction provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is sorely lacking.

“When the story first broke I became very attentive… and there is another story,” said Spell. She says with hundreds of media outlets churning out thousands of stories on the disease there is a lot of misinformation. “Peripheral noise” as she put it. And she says the climate is NOT helped by people who believe themselves experts because they “googled it.”

Early on, Spell called the Emergency Operations manager at the CDC and asked for guidance. Her nurses and other staff work closely with patients over a 7-county region extending into the Winnie area. She was met with confusion and finally an officer who said, “I’m not really familiar with that.” From a clinical vantage point, Spell was looking for much clearer protocols for how to move forward.

Not a single one of Spell’s nurses has contracted the COVID19 virus, despite seeing hundreds of patients in close proximity daily for months now. And that includes those who worked directly with a patient who tested positive on March 31st. Spell’s professionals had worked with the patient for about a month. In that case, two nurses and a therapist were pulled from circulation and quarantined. Thing is, they had taken standard precautions and DID NOT GET IT.

She credits a tenured staffer who had worked for years at a charity hospital (through tuberculosis scares, AIDS, swine flu and other outbreaks) with the maxim we should have. Go to work every day, pray, follow your best practices and all will be well. The nurse told her of COVID19, “this won’t be any different.”

Spell says America started to think of the virus as an assassin in wait. “COVID19 has become paralyzing because somebody is always in our ear.”

She says conditions then worsened. Borne of that hysteria, people who needed care for a myriad of other illnesses started backing away from the very assistance they needed.

“And we began to get calls from patients who didn’t want care,” she said. “So now you have a sick population who, because of this fear, are eliminating health care workers… fear began to culminate in confusion. It blocked people from making the best choices.”

Spell says “medical” friends all around the country started describing a common theme. Hospitals at half capacity. Administrators who were calling for reduced hours. And “government” still driving a theme that we are all going to see the grisly scene witnessed in some hospitals in New York City.

“We are not New York… when we were at our worst, at a 4 percent death rate, that still means 96 percent are surviving… It’s like anything else. If you’re sick, stay home. Or at risk, don’t go to a crowded place. Wash your hands. Be very vigilant about hygiene,” says Spell.

And, at a time when some observers believe the economy is beginning to flat-line, this medical professional has a message for Texas Governor Greg Abbott. She believes in the prudent re-opening of businesses.

“Give the people the power back. These are our rights. These are our freedoms. You’re fearful? Stay at home, but give people who are well, the ability to go back to work.”

Spell believes the fallout from the business closings will be far worse than the virus itself. And will create certain prejudices like never before – like how neighbor perceives neighbor. She believes people with the virus are being shunned as though a leper. And she expects lawsuits to be filed as a result.

The Signature Health Services president knows it’s been a rough ride already but told 1813 that American business owners can learn key truths through this generational crisis.

“Be confident. Wash your stuff down. Make sure (your employees) are well when they come back to work. But when we do those things and we continue to rise up – we replace fear with confidence.”

Sympathy for the Socialists: How Bernie Sanders lost South Carolina

[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.4.0″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.4.0″][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.4.0″ type=”4_4″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.4.0″ text_font=”Georgia||||||||” text_font_size=”20px” hover_enabled=”0″]

Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders threw former President Barack Obama under the bus Tuesday night in a CBS News debate in the Palmetto State.

While the candidates tussled chaotically over issues like the closing of the borders as a protection from the coronavirus, the TRILLIONS that would be spent on Sanders social programs and retaliatory cyber attacks – the transcendent issue was always about front-runner Bernie Sanders.

How extremist would the Vermont US Senator come off on the issue of socialism? Sanders explained his ultimate views midway through the debate. Sanders said it was former President Obama who praised Cuba for its educational reforms.

See, that way Sanders doesn’t sound nearly so close to the precipice. In doing so – Sanders sealed his demise. He lost South Carolina! When Sanders argued that its NOT radical to propose a Medicare for All program that would cost $60 Trillion. That kind of money is RADICAL. Real Radical.

South Carolina is a no-nonsense state. Sen. Hillary Clinton won the state in the 2016 Democratic primary by nailing Sanders on what she described as extremist views on dismantling the Affordable Care Act. Clinton and Sanders squabbled hard over that issue but of course that healthcare system is nothing compared with the dismantling of an entire political ideology.

When the dust settled, Clinton won a landslide – capturing more than 47% of the Democratic vote by painting “Bernie” as a radical.

Tuesday Sanders told us there is nothing “radical” about sympathizing with Venezuela and Cuba – and spending $60 trillion. Sanders said his slogan for the night was from apartheid warrior Nelson Mandela. Using the comment that everything “is impossible until it happens.”

Its impossible to get South Carolinians to agree that ANYTHING in Venezuela and Cuba is worth a try.
