Submission Guidelines

What are the guidelines for editorial submissions?

We prefer letters that are fewer than 1000 words. They may not have been submitted to, posted to or published by any other media. They must include the writer’s full name; anonymous letters and letters written under pseudonyms will not be considered.

For verification purposes, they must also include the writer’s email address and telephone numbers, including a daytime telephone number.  Please put the text of the letter in the body and do not send attachments; attachments will not be read.

In the subject line put “to the left” or “to the right” so we know which category to put them in

You agree that we have ownership of any article you submit for one year after publication

How are letters selected for publication?

Our editor looks for concise editorials that offer a new perspective or add depth to the discussion of an issue.

We will not publish defamatory content, plagiarized content, or content that advocates for harming anyone.

Are letters edited?

Letters are edited for clarity. The opinions expressed are always the writer’s own.
